Field trip: visit to Nancy's farm in Chapin

Hayes makes fast friends with all sorts of people wherever she goes, especially if they like animals. She spent the night with her grandparents in South Carolina and met their friend Nancy, who has all sorts of creatures at her farm. She invited us to visit.
Now I like somebody right off if they let ducks swim around in their funky pool.

Nancy let Hayes and Chooj bust 32 duck eggs. What is more fun for a kid?
In addition to ducks and chickens, Nancy has these two emus. Birds make me nervous and I was more than a little weirded out by the kids getting close to this guy but they were pretty placid.
Nancy is also rehabbing these two baby squirrels for release back into the wild. They are too cute ... for rodents. I liked letting this baby climb on
me, even though he nibbled on my hand and it really hurt for such a little guy. Chooj was none too happy about his baby squirrel experience and Hayes totally ignored them to chase baby chicks.
