Heading home: Kansas & Missouri

Even with all the game playing in the car ...
we're starting to get a little punchy from all the driving.
And annoyed with each other.
A nice bath helps calm the nerves.
We decided to pull over at a state park in Kansas to have our lunch and walk around a bit. Fun for us was that a train went by! Chooj loves trains. The conductor blew the whistle for us.
You know how you're supposed to feel a train coming from a long way away by holding onto the rail? Doesn't work. I actually stood on the track until I saw the train round the bend then I ran screaming. We hiked to this river at the park. Maybe it was the Missouri?
Hayes spotted heron and raccoon tracks.

We saw this garter snake crossing the road and we were excited. Wildlife!
My budding Croc Hunter.
We made it to the arch in St. Louis just at dusk.
No amount of money in the world could persuade me to ride to the top of the arch. No way, no how.
Hayes and Chooj put their hands in the Mississippi River and proclaimed it cold! I thought it was pretty trashy myself.
