Not Back to School schoolroom edition

I intend to start our "official" school year this Friday with a field trip to the nearby orchard to pick peaches and apples.
In the meantime, this week's Not Back to School bloghop is about where we do our studies. This is our homeschool room/office complete with blackboard wall and blackboard table.
I gave Hayes my old desk and I imagine she will sit here and do some of her work ... if she can find a space. Egads.
Of course, we do a lot of our studies, i.e. reading, on the living room couch.
But MOST of our schooling happens here in the backyard and all along our 7 acres next to the creek and IN the creek too, once summer dissipates and I don't have to freak out watching for snakes.

Your school looks much like our own! (except we live in the arctic where we have to be inside due to weather.) Don't you love reading on the lawn with the kids?

I love your chalkboard wall!!! I wanted to do one in our new house but the walls are textured plaster. Oh well, maybe next time. Enjoy your year!

You wrote stating that you liked my blog (tundrahome.blogspot.com) and wanted to visit, well I love YOUR blog and want to visit! Why not plan a trip up here? It is an expensive flight (I won't lie) but once you are up here you can stay with us, room and board provided. Summer is great, spring is the king salmon run, fall is berries and Silvers, winter is cold and dark but the iditarod comes through in March.
