We all rode yesterday and gave the horses a little snack in the back field. I went to sit in the shade to overlook the creek, giving a careful look before I sat. Hayes wanted to climb down the tree roots to get in the creek then said, quite carefully,"Unitsi, you're sitting next to an ENORMOUS snake."
I just turned to let Alex pull me up and about a foot away was a 5 foot black snake stretched out among the tree roots sunning itself.
Alex grabbed it by the tail then let it go and it took off like a shot down the bank through the creek and emerged on the other side.
Seriously, words I really don't want to hear again.
