Wildflower walk

Alex and I won a spot on our church's auction for a wildflower walk at Mary Ann and John's 1,200 acre Tranquility Farm, which took place on this past lovely Saturday. We arrived late and Mary Ann drove us to meet up with the rest of our group from church, who had made it to the creek.
It was such a beautiful time and John and Mary Ann's place is just heaven. I met some new flowers in person and I loved that.
Afterwards we enjoyed a delightful lunch in their 1890's restored farmhouse. Seriously - think "Martha Stewart." Just gorgeous, simply gorgeous.
As we hurried out to make the skunk program, Mary Ann insisted I visit her barn. She has eight rescue Thoroughbreds and that's how we've formed our intial friendship. So Alex and I stopped by and immediately determined that dirt and flies are not allowed in this barn! It was gorgeous too!

Pretty Trilium! Seeing the flowers makes me homesick....4 more days and we'll be in St. Charles for a visit! You know, we have Trilium that seem to pop up in the oddest places in our yard - both white and red ones. XXOO to all!
