We are getting back on track after a week traveling and now all of us suffering colds. Today we took to the middle pasture to study wild violets and dandelions. Hayes drew some lovely pictures and had snacks of dandelion leaves. We rubbed the dandy heads to look at the pollen on our thumbs.
These are bluebells. Aren't they sweet looking?

During the weekend, I collected violets and made violet jelly. I think it may be more like violet syrup though. Here are my two cups of violets sitting on my directions:

The infusion after steeping 24 hours:

It's so purple when finished!

Next up will be dandelion jelly, which I've made before. It is yummy! We'll have plenty of flowers left to make dandelion cookies too.

I've never heard of dandelion or violet jelly - so glad you shared! Great pictures. I love your blog!
Wow...it is so pretty in the jars. I want to just have it sitting on my kitchen counter to look at. :)
Thanks for sharing your study.
