I'm not even going to mention which fire department we went to. This was the most boring field trip EVER, but at least I can say the kids have toured a fire department. Check. That's outta the way.
Nothing like being talked AT and patronized and made to sit while people yammered about dull subjects. C'mon, it's the fire department! Put clothes on the kids, tell stories about how you douse a fire, how long does it take you to learn to put on all that equipment and drive the truck?
Sad to say, the fire safety video was the most entertaining part of the entire two hours, that and getting to climb up into the fire engine.

Sorry your field trip was a bummer...The Westwood guys did a great job at an open firehouse a few months ago. They even let Archie put on one of the big heavy jackets and feel how heavy the hose was...No boring videos, thank goodness!
