Several weeks ago, we plunked down a chunk of change to get five hens and a rooster. Cool. We kept them three days in the coop Alex built from this old truck camper shell then let them out in the yard.

Until one night ... a troublesome white hen led the group across the road and up the neighbor's hill. Two hens returned and that's been it. (I heard flushing of money down the toilet.)
So we had to go up the road to our neighbors... a-gain ... and bought some baby chicks. Alex figures the babies can be trained to stay home.
I configured a chicken tractor and Hayes and I carry all 13 chickens back and forth between the coop and the chicken tractor.

We had some really, really nice weather last week and so Chooj pulled off all his clothes and took off running through the wild carrots.
