Pickle Pops & mailboxes

I couldn't write about the awesome present my Uncle Dean and Aunt Melinda mailed last week because I wanted it to be a surprise for Alex. It is this beautiful painted mailbox.

They have one like it in Illinois and I wanted one too. Melinda customized mine to include our house and a horse, and my grandmother's house and a South Carolina crescent moon on the other side. I just LOVE LOVE LOVE this mailbox. I haven't been able to catch my mail lady yet to get her feedback on it. Isn't Melinda just so creative?!
Included in the package was a constellation craft book for the kids plus a quiz on the mailbox's planets and
And, of course, the packing box provided a lot of fun for the kids ... until I yelled at them to clean up all the pink packing peanuts all over the living room and kitchen.

Then another gift I must share with you. This is from my Aunt Susan in Dallas and she sent these Pickle Pops for my birthday last year. I LOVE LOVE LOVE dill pickles. Not kosher dills, mind you, but Mt. Olive dills. You can either sip these straight from the package or freeze them.

A warm day over the weekend provided the opportunity to pull out a frozen Pickle Pop. You can see from Chooj's face what he thinks about it.

They are a little weird, but I still love having them around!
