Why are we outside when it's minus 2??

Yesterday was a miserable day in my South Carolina-born-and-raised mind. The wind was brutal and the Weather Channel said it was -8 out. This morning my car thermometer read -2 when Alex took Hayes to work with him. I saw our creek was super frozen so Chooj and I bundled up to explore. The cats went with us and ice skated with Chooj on the frozen ponds. Oliver is the lone cat.

Some water was still flowing in spots, like around this rock, from the heavy rain three days ago.

It was nice to hear the creek running and see more water in it after it has progressively gotten drier in the months we've been here. We hear it will flood our property in the spring but it's a little hard to believe at this point.
We were out only about 10 minutes but that was MORE than enough!
