Yearly Pantry, week 3: Medicine Cabinet

Tonight I finished making my own laundry soap. Hayes and Chooj helped by stirring and subsequently losing the spoon in the 5 gallon bucket I was using. The most time-consuming was grating the bar of Fels-Naptha soap and melting it. Then I added 3 gallons of hot tap water, a cup of washing soda and two cups of borax. I'm looking forward to using it!
Today marks the start of weekk 3 of the yearly pantry and it is time to stock the medicine chest, according to Tenzicut on www.downtotheroots.net. Prescriptions, band-aids, over the counter medicines, anything of that sort.
Remember that you don't have to buy a year's worth of anything in this challenge! Just buying an extra bit of something counts toward the stock-up.
