With Santa's arrival, the children finished their Advent calendar that I made a few years ago from a Family Fun magazine template.
After all was unwrapped and played with, it was time to go outside. Sunny and about 35 degrees. I needed to clean up the horses' spare pasture because I'm way behind on dumping manure and spoiled hay onto what will be my summer garden area! The kids played down in the creek, which dramatically dropped from yesterday.
Alex and I went down to join them, finding a lot of big trash we'd picked up and some of the firewood that had been cut washed away. But the kids and I got our faces close to the rushing water and found interesting shells and, surprisingly, a teeny-tiny crawfish.
It really made the day to explore our beautiful water underneath all that sunshine and a pair of hawks calling to each other as they rode the thermals.
