We drove to Churchill Downs Sunday morning to take a look at this gelding. Isn't he just the most gorgeous thing?! (I'm always trying to impress upon Hayes that racehorses look like this from daily grooming.)
Not only is he handsome, but he was sweet too. He let me rub him all over and took peppermints like a gentleman then I let the children rub him and feed him peppermints. After awhile, he was like, blech, please no more peppermints! (Our old racehorse Spellbound, to this day, will not eat a peppermint.)
While on the backside of Churchill, we puttered around in the car, gawking at all the racing barns.

Speaking of pepperments, some Barbaro fans left him a couple of peppermints here on his gravesite.
