Volunteer gardening & a remodeled run-in shed

I am anxiously awaiting the ripening of my tomatoes then I am going to be in some kind of trouble! I'll be canning for days!
There are several plants that popped up in the garden even though I cautiously and patiently planted and cultivated some of the same species that - ahem - have not sprouted at all, i.e. the sunflowers! This one came from the birds.
Then again there's this beauty that I'm so proud of! It's an angel trumpet and I did it all from seed. Woo-hoo for me!
(Chooj is not shy, just sun in his eyes.)
I brought these lantana from my grandmother's in South Carolina. She calls them "stick plants" and hates them with a passion. I LOVE them with a passion! And they are growing and beautiful and the butterflies are enjoying all its blooms.
Look at this massive plant in my compost pile!
Peekaboo, it's a pumpkin from last year's Halloween pumpkins. This is the kind of gardening I'm talkin' about.
Here is the scarlet runner beans I bought for the kids. Alex made tipis for them and we planted the beans at the base of each pole. Did they grow? Noooooo. But the ones in the gravel are going like gangbusters and the hummingbirds are loving it.

Meanwhile, Alex has not at all been a slacker. He remodeled the horses' run-in shed. Here it is last year with Big Lisa trying it out. We sure miss you, big girl.
And now there is plenty, and I mean plenty, of room for our three and it doesn't leak. I didn't have a hand in this remodeling at all - still experiencing phantom knee pain from shingling practically the whole thing without kneepads. Plus there's hay storage in the back for about 100 bales (which is just a start for our hay needs through winter.)
