The tree is up

Hayes, Chooj and I headed to the garden center to buy a live tree. None of the live trees were within my price range so we bought a pretty cut tree and then a smaller live tree, which will get planted along the west boundary to block our lovely view of the White Trash neighbors' junk car.
Alex came home from Trinidad Saturday and we decorated the tree. I always wanted a tree with white lights and white bows instead of a mish-mash of ornaments. It isn't working out that way! Our tree is a collection of Rudolph and the Island of Misfit Toys and the Wizard of Oz. Chooj likes when we plug the lights in and one of the Oz ornaments booms: "I. Am. Oz! The great and powerful! Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain!"
We are also making felt traces of the kids' handprints every year and hanging those up.
