Reptile days

Continuing our theory that learning never stops ... a couple of nights ago we were cleaning up stuff outside the cistern and found four or five upland chorus frogs. The kids came running - Chooj yelling,"Hoppy!" (He does know that they are "frogs.") Hayes made a habitat for them but all escaped by the following morning.

Today in one of our water barrels, there was a tree frog. Hayes had a time trying to catch it, but she did and tried to make it a habitat. He made a jump for it pretty quickly.
And this morning on our way to town, we helped a box turtle across the road. Turned out to be a small female and Hayes carried it to the side and we all continued on our merry ways.

At dinner tonight, we discussed the presidential debate and Hayes and I "debated" the value of beans. I wonder how many other second graders actually get it?
