Thomas Edison would be proud

We've been living with heavy duty extension cords run into the back of the house for electricity. The office and the master bathroom were without a flip of a switch, but no more! Alex got it all wired up today and we rolled up the extension cords. Chooj turns on the light switch and goes,"Yay!"

It has been a beautiful weekend with temps in the upper 70s. I mean, this is AUGUST. Last year we were sweltering on the porch in Tennessee, watching the outdoor thermometer hover at 112.

I canned 11 jars of green beans last week. I'd hoped to find enough tomatoes or corn for canning this week but got sidetracked by honey and plums at the farmer's market.

Yesterday I used the push mower to tame the back pasture. I was so thrown around that I resorted to good old Tylenol before bed. There is nothing, and I mean nothing, like mowing 7 acres by hand.
