Alex and Hayes spent the night at the new house. First, Ruffian found a nest of turkey eggs so Hayes wrapped up the remaining ones (4) and actually sat on them to keep them warm. They are now "incubating" among the AeroGrow tomatoes. On their way back to the house, they almost stepped on a black snake. I don't mind a black snake. It was the fat rattler dead in the road we saw on the way home that I mind.
We went to an auction hoping to successfully bid on a 3-point auger but it went quickly out of our price range. We ended up with a large air conditioner ($50) and $300 worth of cedar lumber for $30. I see cedar lined closets in our future.
Here is our picture from when we joined First Church a couple of weeks ago. Just put some sunburn and a layer of dirt on all of us and that's what we looked like today.
